Weefine WFL14 Underwater Ultra-Wide Angle Conversion Lens
Weefine WFL14 Underwater Ultra-Wide Angle Conversion Lens
The Weefine WFL14 is a professional-grade underwater conversion lens that transforms an action camera’s 156° field of view on land to an impressive 150° underwater ultra-wide perspective. Built with premium optical glass, a polycarbonate dome, and advanced coatings, it delivers sharp, high-quality wide-angle images even in challenging underwater conditions.
Key Highlights
- Converts action camera 156° FOV (land) → 150° FOV (underwater)
- 4-element, 4-group construction (3 optical glass + 1 polycarbonate dome)
- Broadband Anti-Reflection (BBAR) multi-coating for <0.5% reflectivity
- Custom-designed lens hood to minimize flare and protect optics
- M67 × P0.75 thread mount for direct housing attachment
- Depth rated to 80 m (262 ft)
- Durable anodized aluminum barrel and optical-grade polycarbonate dome
- Ideal with natural light, video lights, or external strobes
Technical Specifications
- Lens Construction
- 4 elements in 4 groups (3 glass, 1 polycarbonate)
- Dome
- Optical-grade polycarbonate resin
- Barrel
- Anodized aluminum (Type II hard coating)
- Coating
- Multi-layer Broadband Anti-Reflection (BBAR)
- Mount
- M67 × P0.75 thread
- Magnification
- 1.04×
- Depth Rating
- 80 m (262 ft)
- Dimensions
- Ø116 × H49.7 mm
- Weight
- 390 g (air) / 250 g (underwater)
Compatibility
Designed for action cameras with ultra-wide lenses (156°). Water is an integral part of the optical design — the gap between the WFL14 rear lens and housing port lens should fill with water (no trapped bubbles) for optimal results.
Field of View Conversion
- 156° (camera) → 150° (underwater)
- 151° (camera) → 142° (underwater)
- 145° (camera) → 134.1° (underwater)
- 138° (camera) → 126.4° (underwater)
- 122° (camera) → 110.2° (underwater)
- 113° (camera) → 101.6° (underwater)
- 100° (camera) → 89.6° (underwater)
- 90° (camera) → 80.6° (underwater)
Installation & Use
- Align the lens with the 67 mm thread mount on the housing.
- Turn clockwise until securely locked in place.
- Rotate the lens hood to the correct orientation.
- Tighten the hood set screws.
Tip: When using external strobes, avoid pointing the flash directly at the lens to prevent ghosting. Use zoom if vignetting occurs until dark corners disappear.
Care & Maintenance
- Always rinse in freshwater and use lens caps during transport.
- Do not expose to high heat, boiling water, or direct sunlight.
- Avoid organic solvents or harsh cleaners on the dome.
- Apply a small amount of silicone grease to the thread to prevent corrosion.
- Handle carefully — dust or grit can damage optics.
- Never look at the sun through the lens.
